GTA V for PC seemed like an imminent proposition all the while, and this has been underlined even more by leaks that have occurred recently. Listings on Amazon websites from European countries have apparently given away the existence of the game on the said platform. Rockstar has only announced it for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but has indicated before that launches for PC and the Wii U cannot be ruled out.
As spotted by Videogamer, GTA V for PC was ranged on Amazon portals meant for UK, France and Germany. And while the former site has already pulled the listing off it, the latter two still have it pinned down, offering pre-orders for interested buyers. As far as its release date is concerned, ‘soon’ is the answer one of them is offering. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions too have been made available for pre-order of course.
Rockstar Games announced this new entry to the series in late 2011, and it was in last year when we came to know that PS3 and Xbox 360 are the only two formats the game is planned on being released for. The exclusion of a PC variant had got tongues wagging, but long-time fans were optimistic, as all the modern Grand Theft Auto games have landed on consoles first, and then on PC. So, it has always been looked at as a marketing move by publisher Take-Two Interactive.
In November last year, basic details about the title had come to the fore finally. It has been revealed to have its story revolve around three protagonists. And what’s more is that all three of them will be playable. Michael, Trevor and Franklin are the names of these characters who are all residents of Los Santos, Rockstar’s take on the modern day Los Angeles. If the developer is to be believed, the sandbox world presented by the game will be bigger than the entire environments of Grand Theft Auto 4, Red Dead Redemption and San Andreas combined.
GTA V for PC is still to be confirmed by Rockstar Games, but the leaks have more or less made its existence apparent. Its release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360 is set to fall sometime during the spring of this year.
