Xbox Durango specs outed?

What are being described as Xbox Durango specs have been pushed out in the open by a leak that occurred recently. Shrouded with utmost secrecy, the next-gen console from Microsoft of course has its technical components tuned up to the maximum, as far as information from this leak is concerned. The authenticity of these details however can be confirmed.

VGleaks has come up with these apparent Xbox Durango specs, which have even been supported by the website with a detailed block diagram. At the heart of the console, claims the website, lies an eight core CPU with the x64 architecture. And all the modules of the four CPU cores have a 2MB L2 cache which grants a total of 4 MB of L2 cache. Besides, the CPU thread has its own 32KB L1 instruction cache and a 32KB L1 data cache.

A custom D3D11.1 class graphics processor of 800MHz capacity will also be making its way to the console, if the report is to be believed. It will come with 12 shader cores meant to offer 768 threads. At its peak performance, the GPU will apparently be able to issue 1.2 trillion floating-point operations per second. This hardware will be complemented by 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 32MB fast embedded SRAM (ESRAM).

The capacity of the hard drive present within the console hasn’t been revealed, but the website has indeed claimed that a 6x Blu-ray disc drive capable of providing support for 50GB dual-layer discs will be comprised in its offerings. Furthermore, another one of its specifications mentions a high-fidelity Natural User Interface (NUI) sensor which points fingers at some kind of a Kinect-like device that will be housed by it.

Its networking options include Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, while it is also said to provide shelter to cryptography engines for encryption and decryption, and hashing. Move engines, codecs for images, videos and audio and a Kinect multichannel echo cancellation (MEC) hardware are the other accelerators that reportedly form part of it.
