The Civilization V Brave New World expansion got announced recently, and is all set to make its way into the game this summer. Gearing up for release on both the PC and Mac versions of the game, this new addition is said to have been infused with a ‘massive amount of new gameplay.’ Following the Gods & Kings expansion which was launched for the title in June last year, this will be the second such add-on for this much loved turn-based strategy offering created by veteran developer, Firaxis Games.
The Brave New World content for Civilization V has been filled with new depth and replayability, claims its maker. International trade will be the focus this time around, along with culture and diplomacy. Players will need to create various ‘Great Works’ so as to establish their influence around the globe. They will also need to choose an ideology for their civilization, while proposing global resolutions in the new World Congress. And while moving through the ages of history, they will also be required to make critical decisions which would affect their relationships with all civilizations in the game world.
As far as the new features making their way into it are concerned, it can be observed that fresh civilizations, units and buildings will be at gamers’ disposal, alongside eight new wonders, such as the Parthenon, Broadway, the Uffizi and more. A Culture Victory addition will enable players to create masterpieces with great artists, writers and musicians that will lead them to establish influence over other civilizations from around the globe.
And with the introduction of the World Congress, more importance will need to be targeted towards diplomacy. Players will be asked to tackle issues like rogue nations, limiting resource usage and the use of nuclear weapons. Apart from this, international trade routes will also form a major part of this expansion. Using this feature, gamers will be able to build their cities into hubs of international trade, thus generating great wealth and prosperity for their people.
