StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm beta Commences

Now live is the much awaited StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm multiplayer beta which can be jumped into by select players. Blizzard has revealed that others gamers will be granted access later on, and that the current test participants are not under NDA, meaning that they can share live streams of matches, screenshots as well as other material.

Those who’re participating in the test at the moment include a select group of pro-gamers, press members, Arcade contest winners and shoutcasters. Others who wish to get into the beta in the future, should register themselves using their Battle.net accounts. They can enter the Beta Profile Settings option under the Account Management section so as to sing up. Blizzard has mentioned that registering from a Battle.net account which is actively playing StarCraft II will help gamers’ chances of being selected.

A post on the official Battle.net blog, read “We’ll also be working with several fansites and community personalities to provide more opportunities to join the beta test, so keep an eye out here and throughout the StarCraft II community for details as they emerge. For those who are in the beta already, we appreciate your assistance in helping us test the game. If you’re interested in joining the beta, we wish you luck with the opt-in and (future) giveaways, and hope to see you in a match soon!”

The beta which his live now only focuses on the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming expansion pack. It is accessible to players from all over the world, but the languages supported only include English, German, French and Korean.

While its beta has been made available, the StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm release date is still under wraps.
