While the demo version of Madden NFL 12 is slated to release on August 9, the folks over at EA Sports, Virgin Gaming and Gamestop are busy organizing the Battle of the Gridiron online tournament which is touted to have in its store, prizes worth $100,000. It will commence on September 11, 2011 and go on till October16. Only players who purchase the game’s pre-order copy would be eligible to participate in it.
Winning gamers will receive VIP trips to LA and the $5,000 entry into the EA Sports Madden NFL 12 Challenge Series live final which would give them a chance to win up to $1 million in prize money. Four runners up also get a VIP trip and package to LA to watch the finals of the same challenge series. Additional prizes include Ea Sports Madden NFL 12 Challenge Series tournament entry fees and Virgin Gaming credit that can be used by gamers in other such tournaments.
The title which is scheduled to release on August 30 will add new elements to the gameplay which were previously not seen in the franchise. These include the ability to execute onside kicks from standard kickoff formations and the facility to download tuner sets can be downloaded in order for developers to improve gameplay code without distributing patches. Also, player attributes will keep changing throughout the course of the game.
The Battle of the Gridiron Tournament by EA Sports, Virgin Gaming and Gamestop which holds prizes worth $100,000 will run from September 11, 2011 to October16. The game can currently be pre-ordered for the PS3 and Xbox 360 at a price of 59.99 USD (approx Rs. 2,672). A special Hall of Fame edition costs 89.99 USD (approx Rs. 4,008) for both consoles.
