NBA 2K10: Draft Combine gets Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose as Spokesperson

NBA 2K10 has been making quite a buzz, with LA Laker, Kobe Bryant as the cover athlete and with its Anniversary Edition. Earlier 2K Sports had announced the NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, and now the company has revealed that it has signed Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls as the spokesperson for NBA 2K10: Draft Combine.

The game is a download-only title which gives fans a pre-season basketball experience building up to the launch of NBA 2K10 in the fall. Rose has been picked the 2009 T-Mobile NBA Rookie of the Year, and the NBA 2K10: Draft Combine will take from his experience and knowledge about training for the NBA Draft.

“It’s a great feeling to partner with 2K Sports and represent the greatest basketball franchise on the planet,” exclaimed Derrick Rose, point guard for the Chicago Bulls. “I look forward to providing my insights of what that first year in the league is really like, and what it takes to stay on top of your game. This season, NBA 2K10: Draft Combine will be a place where fans can experience the life of a player trying to make it to the NBA. The drills are challenging, and the group scrimmages are always extremely competitive with everyone looking to improve their draft stock as well. It’s as real as it gets.”

Rose with his electrifying moves, was selected top overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2008 NBA Draft after only one college season. He led the University of Memphis to the NCAA Championship game in just his freshman year. He has even been selected for the NBA All-Rookie First Team, averaging 16.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game in the past year. Rose has tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA record of the most points scored by a rookie in his playoff debut, with 36 points.

In the Draft Combine fans begin their basketballing careers by creating a custom player and working closely with a mentor, the 2K Insider. Gamers can also use their custom created player in the all new My Player career mode featured in the NBA 2K10 video game.

Developed by Visual Concepts, NBA 2K10: Draft Combine is scheduled for an August 26, 2009 release to North America, India, Singapore and Taiwan on the Xbox Live for 400 Microsoft Points. The game will release on the PlayStation Network for the PS3 on September 3, 2009 to North America and Korea for 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 240).
