NBA 2K10: Anniversary Edition will Release this Year, says 2K Sports

The NBA 2K franchise has been a crowd favourite right from the first installment released back in 1999. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the series and the two million copies of NBA 2K9 sold, 2K Sports has announced plans to release the NBA 2K10: Anniversary Edition later in the year. The new edition will contain a video honoring NBA 2K series’ glorious past.

NBA 2K10 Anniversary Edition

The NBA 2K10: Anniversary Edition will include the NBA 2K 10 game along with a 2K Sports locker configured specially for game storage. This locker will contain select items featuring NBA 2K10 cover athlete, Kobe Bryant from the Los Angeles Lakers. Each of the limited 30,000 copies of the commemorative edition will be individually numbered. Also, 10 randomly chosen lockers will have a signed Kobe Bryant fine-art print hidden inside them. Designed by Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One, the fine-art print is a collector’s item.

PSN and Xbox Live members can enjoy special access to the online Gold Room where they can rub shoulders with celebrities and other high rolling members. A three inch Kobe Bryant figurine and a 16 by 36 inch poster of the shooting guard are also included in the packaging.

The NBA 2K10: Anniversary Edition will be available in stores this fall for the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. Users can pre order their copy online or at retail stores, while the prices are not known. NBA 2K10 is developed by Visual Concepts and is available for PS3, PSP, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
