Dead or Alive 5 Plus is the PS Vita version of this year’s console title which is due to hit the handheld in early 2013, and Tecmo Koei has now gone on to spill out some details regarding it. The game will be launched with cross-platform features which will enable players to jump into matches against opponents on both the PS3 as well as the Vita, while also being able to share costumes across both machines. Its release date for North America has been marked at March 19, 2013, whereas its European launch is scheduled for March 22.
Under development from Team Ninja, this port was first revealed earlier this month when it was also disclosed that it will be made to take advantage of the touch-based features of Sony’s handheld console. It was known before that it will use a first-person perspective in portrait mode during its intense fights. And now, Tecmo Koei has disclosed the two modes with which gamers will be able to play this way.
Mode 1 will need players to tap the opponent so as to attack them in that spot. In Mode 2 on the other hand, they will be required to ‘touch, flick and pinch’ the screen to hit their opponents with more finesse and options. Moreover, Dead or Alive 5 Plus will also kick in a Training Plus Mode which will let gamers build their fighting skills and knowledge by going through challenging missions. According to the publisher, each of these modes grants players ‘a fun experience’ as they gain practical knowledge about the title.
A number of technical traits will also be making their way into the game. These include three times the details for each move in real-time, as claimed by Tecmo Koei. Moreover, detailed information such as delay interval frames, move reach and more will also be introduced into this port. The original game was released in September this year for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and since then, it has been infused with a number of different costumes that have gone live as DLC.
