Square Enix to Unleash Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy next month

PSP-3000s were slapped with what appeared to be Yoshitaka Amano’s character art from Dissidia Final Fantasy for retailing in Japanese regions earlier this month. Square Enix also announced a sequel to Dissidia previously in September last year. Furthering these pleasurable offerings, the game’s publisher has now revealed that the follow-up, dubbed Dissidia 012[duodecim] will start shipping to North American retailers next month.

Dissidia 012[duodecim] is said to bring all of the characters from Dissidia Final Fantasy together to offer the ultimate character matchup experience. Characters Lightning, Kain and Tifa, each having their own completely new abilities, will now participate in the battle between Cosmos and Chaos with customization options for a strategically enhanced combat system. The gameplay is reported to be a unique blend of action-filled fighting and RPG-based character development with a command-based mode. This ensures the characteristic Final Fantasy combat to be experienced with the help of simple commands.

Square Enix has also publicized the cast that will voice the iconic Final Fantasy characters. Including actors such as Rachael Leigh Cook as Tifa, Steve Burton as Cloud Strife and George Newbern as Sephiroth, Dissidia 012[duodecim] also has Keith David lending his impressive voice to Chaos. The game also presents a multiplayer mode where players can team up in parties for group battles and utilize the available communication functions. Moreover, the title offers new story missions, alternate costumes, battle mechanics, game modes and items for PSP gamers to enjoy a thrilling Final Fantasy matchup experience.

Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy is scheduled to hit retail stores across North America on March 22, 2011 accompanied by a suggestive price tag of 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,367).
