The Chimera Pack DLC for R.U.S.E. now available

Twilight of the Gods, Vesuvio and Guns and Tulips, these were the three exhilarating maps that Ubisoft delivered last month in the Manhattan Project Pack of downloadable content for its real-time strategy game R.U.S.E. The publisher has now released a new add-on called The Chimera Pack which seems to feature almost double the amount of fun that the previous DLC offered.

The Chimera Pack brings three new exclusive multiplayer maps, three exclusive solo operations and several new challenges for R.U.S.E. players to engage in. The pack is also reported to transform the in-game scenario and heavily influence solo and multiplayer combat systems. The multiplayer maps contained in the DLC are Blood and Sand, Djebel and Nuclear Winter, each with its unique scenic arrangements. Gamers will also be offered Bir Hakeim, Mejez and Zapad Operation solo challenges where new settings and warfare mechanics await their indulgence.

The first challenge Bir Hakeim puts players in control of armies marching into the Libyan Desert where the Free French Forces resisted the Axis Advance in 1942. On the other hand, Mejez will have them commandeering the Afrikakorps in Tunisia of 1943 while they confront the British Army and the Free French Forces in a deadly all encompassing battle. Nothing will be inadvertent in the third challenge Zapad Operation, where players are allowed to team up with a friend and scuffle for the Soviet army. This challenge will pit gamers against the American imperialists after a border mishap results in a full-blown nuclear war.

The Chimera Pack can be presently availed from Xbox Live, PSN and Steam for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC gaming platforms respectively. Steam lists the DLC for $6.99 USD (approx. Rs. 319), while Xbox Marketplace prices the same at 560 Microsoft Points.
