Metal Gear Solid 5 Confirmed by Hideo Kojima

Iconic game director Hideo Kojima is ‘not yet finished with Solid Snake,’ and Metal Gear Solid 5 has finally been confirmed by him to a French gaming magazine. What’s all the more interesting is that this game, which was long rumored to be in the works, would be crafted using Kojima Productions’ new Fox engine that was debuted at 2011’s E3.

According to CVG, Kojima has corroborated the existence of this title to a French gaming magazine named IG. He has also mentioned that there are possibilities of social interactions like those in Deus Ex: Human Revolution to be included within Metal Gear Solid 5. Furthermore, he has admitted that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a spinoff that ‘tries something different,’ but yet the developer is not finished with the story of Solid Snake.

“About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you ‘a favor’ like in the last Metal Gear Solid. I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see. And if I say more, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door, I will be carved up into pieces. So it’s better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5,” said Hideo Kojima, the director of Kojima Productions.

Kojima also went on to add that he wanted Solid Snake to die at the end of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This game was released exclusively for the PS3 in June 2008 with its much appreciated stealth action offerings. The newest game is also set to mark the debut of the Fox engine which is said to be aimed at next-gen consoles.

Metal Gear Solid 5 hasn’t been officially unveiled as yet. We’ll keep gamers posted with all the latest information related to the game.
