Saints Row: The Third – Enter the Dominatrix Expansion Canned, Now Part of Saints Row 4

Fans of THQ’s bizarre sandbox game franchise are used to unusual surprises, and hence the news of the Saints Row: The Third – Enter the Dominatrix expansion being called off only for it to enter the next Saints Row title can’t be branded as a shocker. THQ has announced that due to the fact that the ‘cumulative awesomeness’ of this expansion’s gameplay not being able to fit into a single DLC, it has taken the decision to incorporate into a fresh title.

This also means that the publisher has revealed that a next game is indeed in the pipeline. Yet to be conferred with a name, this new title will be the fourth installment to the much loved series. SR: The Third was released in November last year and has since garnered lots of praises for its over-the-top and wacky game design. We gave it an Overall score of 8.5/10 in our review. The Saints Row: The Third – Enter the Dominatrix expansion was going to release this fall.

“When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise. I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game,” commented Jason Rubin, THQ’s President.

Although it is almost certain that Volition will be developing the sequel, it is still vague as to when the game will be ready to launch. Currently, the developer is working on a survival horror title named Insane which is to release next year. There are bright possibilities then for the next Saints Row game to be ready during the coming of next-gen consoles.

Earlier scheduled to come out this fall, the Saints Row: The Third – Enter the Dominatrix expansion has been cancelled officially, and will now be seen in Saints Row 4.
