Max Payne 3 Jumps into Stores This Week

Rockstar Games’ much anticipated Max Payne 3 will finally be making its way into retail outlets this week for the PS3 and Xbox 360, with the PC version planned for a May 29, 2012 release. The Game of Thrones RPG is another big game lined up for launch tomorrow, while other PS3 releases include Battleship, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends and a few PSN titles.

Max Payne 3 is the third main installment to the extremely popular series that first debuted in 2001 for PC. This new game has Max working as a private guard to a wealthy industrialist and his family in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The family turns out to be a target of the gangs there, forcing Max to fight in order to save his clients and rid himself of the demons of his past. Apart from a single-player campaign, the title also contains a huge multiplayer component and two Arcade modes.

The Game of Thrones RPG is based on the incredibly popular A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series of books penned by George R. R. Martin. It has been developed by Cyanide using the Unreal Engine 3 technology. Battleship, which also releases this week on multiple platforms, is said to comprise grand oceanic action which is a blend of strategic naval command and first-person action gameplay. Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends has been developed by NFS: Shift and NFS: Shift 2-maker Slightly Mad Studios, and looks to proffer gamers with the thrills of driving a number of performance cars built by the legendary manufacturer.

On the PSN front, PixelJunk 4am will be seen getting launched this week along with other titles like Prototype 2 (with Radnet Access Pack), Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II, Goldeneye 007 Reloaded (PS Move Compatible), Jam Live Music Arcade and Rock of Ages. Moreover, free PSN demos of PixelJunk 4am, Rock of Ages and Sonic The Hedgehog Episode II will also be made available. Apart from all these, the PS one Classic, Myst and the PS2 Classic, Red Faction 2 complete this week’s PS3 releases.

Gamers will be able to pick up Max Payne 3 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,215).
