Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II Coming to PSN, Xbox Live and Mobile Platforms

Sega has gone on to announce that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II is all set to arrive in 2012 on PSN, Xbox Live as well as on mobile services like the App Store, Android Market and Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7. What’s surprising though is that, while Episode I got a WiiWare release back in October 2010, Sega has decided to give Nintendo’s console a miss this time around.

The developing teams behind this game have apparently taken fan feedback into consideration during the creation of the title. Brand new character animations and an entirely reworked physics engine has supposedly been put into Episode II. This title is said to have been infused with new locations and challenges. The teaser trailer posted below goes on to indicate that Sonic’s sidekick Tails will indeed be a part of this game.

“After twenty years in action, it’s clear that Sonic hasn’t slowed down one bit. The first entry in the Sonic 4 saga was a major success. We’ve listened to the fans and been hard at work making sure we recapture that same spirit of fun in Episode II. We hope the fans will enjoy it,” revealed, Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA of America.

Only those Android-powered mobile devices that are equipped with Nvidia Tegra mobile processors will be able to run this title. It will be seen making its way onto the Android Market and will also be featured on the Tegra Zone app. Moreover, Nvidia and Sega have disclosed that they have been working together so as to develop the world’s first quad-core mobile processor.
