LittleBigPlanet UGC Will Be Region Specific

A few weeks ago, we had reported that Sony had clarified that the LittleBigPlanet content will be free at launch. Most of the PS3 gamers were quite happy to hear that. But now video games news site CVG is reporting that the user generated content of LittleBigPlanet will be region specific.

At the Leipzig Games Convention, Pete Smith from Sony, who oversees operations at LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule, made the revelation that the levels published on the PlayStation Network by the gamers will only be downloadable by the users who are in the same region.

Pete Smith explained, “We have got regional servers. But we can move levels around on servers whenever we want. But you won’t have access to the Japanese servers.” All territories will be having their own dedicated servers on which the levels will be uploaded. LittleBigPlanet is being backed by Sony as a hardware seller.
