One game besides Metal Gear Solid 4 that Sony hopes will turn around the fortunes for the PlayStation 3 is LittleBigPlanet. But recently it emerged that the user generated content would be saleable. But now Sony has come out and clarified that the LittleBigPlanet content will be free at launch.
Sony spoke to video games magazine CVG and told them, “SCEE and Media Molecule can guarantee that all consumer generated content will be free at launch. We know how important this is to the LBP community and what we want most is for people to enjoy playing, creating and sharing their content. Obviously, we are also excited about the future and David was talking about how user generated content could potentially evolve in the long term.”
Sony also stated that if decisions involving LittleBigPlanet for the PS3 are taken in the future, they will make sure that the community will be included and the focus will be on improving the user experience. LittleBigPlanet is expected to be out for the PS3 in October this year.
