When one thinks about video games that have a theme related to law, one remembers Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Now Portuguese game developers Gameinvest has sent word about a new game which is called as Defenders of Law, Inc.: Crime in Willburg.
Defenders of Law is basically a puzzle-based crime drama. Gamers will be able to select one of five star litigators, Sophie, Margaret, Mark, Philips or Jane to defend the main suspect in the murder of Miss Rosevolt. They will have to examine numerous witnesses and look out for evidence including fingerprints, footprints, and blood samples. This can be done using the hidden object game mechanic. The evidence can be analyzed in a lab.
In Defenders of Law, Inc.: Crime in Willburg, the evidence is presented on a deck of playing cards. Gamers have to play an intense card game against the district attorney as the winning hand will reveal the final verdict and thus the final fate of the defendant. The game has forty hours of game play and there are twenty five detail-rich scenarios.
Paulo Gomes is the founder and chief executive officer of Gameinvest. He said, “We created complex criminal heroes in Defenders of Law, Inc. as a way to draw players into a story that feels like a really good crime novel. As an attorney in the game, players will uncover the mysteries behind each individual character while proving the innocence of their client. It creates a much deeper experience than the typical casual game yet it’s still accessible to everyone.â€
Defenders of Law, Inc.: Crime in Willburg is presently under development for the Nintendo DS, Wii and the PC. There is no word on the exact release date of the game but Gameinvest has said that they are looking out for publishing partners for various platforms.
