Guitar Hero Metallica now Available for PS2 across North America

Activision Publishing has announced that Guitar Hero Metallica is now available in North America for Sony’s PS2 system. PlayStation 2 users can now rock out to 45 smash hits, as Metallica as well as 20 other bands featured in Guitar Hero Metallica.

Tracks in the game are taken from both Metallica’s long memorable career and a wide range of great artists, hand-picked by the band. These artists include Queen, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foo Fighters and Alice in Chains. Some time ago the demo was available on Xbox Live.

The game allows players to perform at venues at which the band has played and at locales from the band’s album covers. Featured in all platform versions of the game, is an all new Expert+ drum difficulty setting with two bass drum pedals to match the drumming technique which Metallica’s Lars Ulrich employs, giving an authentic Metallica experience. After getting a song right, players can experience a virtual concert, which gives on-screen trivia and facts about the song being played.

Guitar Hero Metallica is now available for the Nintendo Wii, the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PS2 and PS3, across North America. The game is the second in the Guitar Hero series to be focused on the works of one band, following Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
