Guitar Hero Catalog to Provide New Music throughout April 2009

Guitar Hero: World Tour is about to get a major boost with downloadable music from five very distinctive rock bands coming in April. Premiering on Guitar Hero will be The Pixies, returning to the franchise is the band Silversun Pickups, releasing two new songs from their yet to be released second album.

Also included are the artists Nirvana with three hits and Steely Dan and Motorhead, each having singles already on Guitar Hero: World Tour’s on-disc set list, also feature songs in this update.

Guitar Hero: Metallica is set to be released in a few days time, while the demo of Guitar Hero: Metallica is available on Xbox Live, and recently Guitar Hero: World Tour was poised to get four new track packs.

It all starts on April 2, 2009 when the alternative rock music from The Pixies will be released to the Guitar Hero music catalog. They will have two songs ‘Monkey Gone to Heaven’ and ‘Debaser’ from their second album Doolittle, and ‘The Sad Punk’ from their fourth album Trompe le Monde.

Swoon, the second album from Silversun Pickups will become available only on April 14, 2009, but Guitar Hero fans will be able to get their hands on two songs from that album, ‘Panic Switch’ and ‘It’s Nice to Know You Work Alone’ on April 9, 2009. The Track Pack will be completed by ‘Well Thought Out Twinkles’ from their first album.

Steely Dan returns to Guitar Hero World Tour on April 16, 2009 with three singles from three different albums. These are ‘Black Friday’ from Katy Lied, ‘Bodhisattva’ from Countdown to Ecstasy and ‘Kid Charlemagne’ taken from the album The Royal Scam.

On April 23, 2009 British rock band Motorhead will be bringing re-recorded versions of ‘Jailbait’, ‘Love Me Like a Reptile’ and ‘Iron Fist’ onto Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Nirvana will also be making another appearance on Guitar Hero with a second downloadable Track Pack which releases on April 30, 2009. Songs included in this pack are ‘Sappy’ taken from No Alternative, ‘Stay Away’ from their album Nevermind and ‘Very Ape’ which features on the band’s In Utero album.

Each of the Track Packs will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox 360 for 440 Microsoft Points and on the PlayStation Store for the PS3 for 5.49 USD (approx. Rs. 280). Individual songs in these packs will be available as downloadable singles each for 160 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360, 1.99 USD (approx. Rs. 100) for the PS3 and 200 Wii Points for the Nintendo Wii.
