Guitar Hero World Tour to get Four New Track Packs this month

Guitar Hero World Tour piles on over a dozen more new downloadable tracks set to be released before the end of the month. Activision’s Guitar Hero World Tour has racked up more than 37 million song downloads to date. The game is about to get even more varied content with the addition of Queen, Jimi Hendrix and a range of European artists to the 550 tracks already available from the catalog.

From March 5, 2009 the music library is set to grow as three European tracks are added to it in one pack. The third European Track Pack comprises Break It Out by Italian punk group Vanilla Sky, C’est Comme Ça from the 1986 Les Rita Mitcouko album The No Comprendo and In The Shadows by Finland’s The Rasmus. Adding to their European content, Guitar Hero World Tour will put in Dutch, German and Spanish music to its catalog. ‘What Have You Done’ by Dutch band Within Temptation, ‘Hier Kommt Alex’ by German punk band Die Toten Hosen and M-Clan’s ‘Carolina’ will join the fray on March 19, 2009.

Jimi Hendrix, the legendary god of guitar makes a return to Guitar Hero with a challenging three pack. This second Jimi Hendrix Track Pack features Angel and Freedom from his album First Rays of the New Rising Sun and a unique live recording from Woodstock 1969 titled Foxey Lady. Also available on March 19, 2009 will be songs from the first Jimi Hendrix Track Pack, If 6 was 9, Fire and Little Wing in the form of singles to be downloaded for the Wii.

On March 26, 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Queen join the Guitar Hero World Tour line-up with We Are The Champions and Fat Bottomed Girls plus C-lebrity from their 2008 album with Paul Rodgers. Also on the same day, a new recording of the classic James Bond theme will be released as downloadable content.

The Jimi Hendrix Track Pack, the Queen Track Pack and the two European Track Packs will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 440 Microsoft Points each and on the PlayStation Store for 5.49 euros (approx. Rs. 360) or 3.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 295) each. The songs in these track packs and the James Bond theme song will also be released as singles for the Xbox 360 for 160 MS Points each, for the PS3 for 1.99 euros (approx. Rs. 130) or 1.59 GBP (approx. Rs. 120) each and for 200 Wii Points each for the Nintendo Wii.
