A few weeks ago, we had reported that the sim game, Spore would be releasing on September 7, 2008. The game is eagerly awaited by the gamers who love to play God games. Now Maxis and Electronic Arts (EA) have sent word that a complete retail version of the Spore Creature Creator and a free downloadable demo of Spore will be out in June 2008.
Will Wright is the chief designer at Maxis. He commented, “We are delighted to finally be putting the creative tools of Spore into the hands of players around the world. The amazing creations players design this summer will help populate the game universe we all enter when Spore ships this September, so in a sense, the Spore Creature Creator is the birth of Spore.”
So what exactly is the creature creator? Well, the Spore Creature Creator basically lets the gamers design their own species and share it with their friends. In fact, creatures designed with the creature creator can be imported into the full retail version of Spore that is launching in September 2008. As for the Spore demo, it will allow gamers to shape, paint and play with an unlimited number of creatures using twenty-five percent of the creature-making parts from Spore. The best part is these creations can be shared with friends on YouTube.
The Spore demo will be out on June 17, 2008, so will be the Spore Creature Creator. The demo will be free but the creature creator will cost $9.99 (approx. Rs. 400) in North America and €9.99 (approx. Rs. 620) in Europe. The demo version of Spore can be downloaded from the official website. And if you happen to pick up the SimCity Box, that is coming out in June 23, 2008, you can expect the Spore demo in it.
