Innovative titles like the Hotel Dusk: Room 215, which was a video game book, have been released on the Nintendo DS. But one thing DS gamers complain is the lack of horror games for their consoles. Now games mag Famitsu has an article on Nanashi no Game, an original horror title for the DS by Square Enix.
Nanashi no Game, which means ‘The Game With No Name’, will have to be played sideways. This is something similar to Hotel Dusk. As for the storyline, parallels can be drawn to “The Ring” movie as the game introduces the idea of a cursed game. Not only does it affect the in-game characters, but it also has an effect on the player. Gamers get to experience the game within the game. In fact, gamers will get haunted messages through an interface, which looks similar to that of the Nintendo DS.
Nanashi no Game for the Nintendo DS is expected to be out on July 3, 2008 in Japan. Square Enix has not confirmed whether the game would be out in the North American or the European territories. It would be nice if they releases a horror game like Nanashi no Game worldwide.
