Runic Games’ much awaited action RPG, Torchlight II, is now available for pre-order through Steam and Perfect World Entertainment, the developer announced recently. Disappointing as it may sound, the game still doesn’t have a release date, keeping fans guessing as to when they’ll get to play the sequel to 2009’s much loved Torchlight.

As a pre-order incentive, all those who reserve their digital copies through Steam will be proffered a free download code for the original game. This sequel has been confirmed to feature a single-player offline mode as well as co-op via LAN and over the Internet for free. Its fresh matchmaking service lets gamers find their friends, start new games and join existing ones.
“As we put the finishing touches on Torchlight II, it made sense to start pre-orders after the great response we received at PAX-East. Fans have asked us for a pre-order, and we are planning an imminent network test, so the timing was perfect,” shared Max Schaefer, CEO of Runic Games.

Four brand new character classes will be seen making their way into the title, with each one of them having different customization options and skills. The TorchED feature of the game will enable players to create their own mods, which will be available for others to download and employ. Apart from all these features, a new user interface also forms a part of the upcoming release.
Torchlight II can be pre-ordered now via Steam and Perfect World Entertainment at a price of 19.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,050). It is slated to release for PC later this year.
