For those who’ve just found out about it, this game is based on the yesteryear pen-and-paper RPG series of the same name, which was created by legendary game designer, Mike Pondsmith. He is known as one of the pioneers of the cyberpunk art style that has made itself seen in Blade Runner and other entertainment franchises.

CD Projekt RED has revealed that this game will send players into the year 2077 when advanced technologies have taken over the world in such a way that they’ve become both the ‘salvation and the curse’ of humanity. It will feature a multi-thread and nonlinear storyline aimed at the ‘mature’ audience the developer boasts to have captured.

The title will be set in a sprawling metropolis called Night City which was seen in the pen-and-paper game. It will feature a sandbox model, and will kick in modern RPG mechanics. All the main aspects of the cyberpunk genre will be covered within the game, claims the developer.
