CD Projekt RED Sheds More Light on Details about Cyberpunk RPG

Ever since its first announcement, the Cyberpunk RPG from CD Projekt RED has been surrounded by immense anticipation amongst fans. Quelling their thirst for more information regarding this upcoming title, the developer has finally revealed some important details about it through a Q&A on its official website.

This RPG will be based on the pen-and-paper game of the same name by Mike Pondsmith. But another interesting new aspect about the game is the fact that it will be using the Blade Runner movie as one of its main inspirations. CD Projekt RED has also mentioned that it’s looking up to ShellShock games because of their ‘interesting approach’ to gameplay. The first Ghost in the Shell anime and manga series as well as the initial part of Deus Ex are also being cited as inspirations for the new title.

“As promised last week, today we’ve prepared some information about our upcoming Cyberpunk title. It’s great that you have so many questions about the game and we hope that we can satisfy at least some of your hunger for knowledge about the title that’s currently being in the works. With that being said, let’s get to the main dish,” read a post on CD Projekt RED’s official site.

The developer has also disclosed new information regarding this game’s characters system. Each of the chosen classes will offer gamers a set of special skills that will have direct effects of their stats in many different ways. Character customization will be included within the Cyberpunk RPG as well. Unlike the case with The Witcher series, the protagonist in this title will indeed have customization options with respect to statistics, equipment, implants and much more.

The Cyberpunk RPG from CD Projekt RED is expected to be released for PC and next-gen consoles in 2015. A recent job listing by the developer even pointed out that the game might ship with some kind of multiplayer support.
