Grand Theft Auto 5 Viral Marketing Commenced

Here’s a piece of news that would definitely spell delight for GTA fans: a viral marketing campaign seems to have gone live for Grand Theft Auto 5 which is yet to be blessed with a release date. A Twitter handle by the name ‘Epsilon Program’ was deployed recently with a link to a humorous website for a religion called ‘KIFFLOM.’

GTA: San Andreas had featured the Epsilon Program in a few gags spread around its open-world environment. The website in question, which was spotted by Kotaku, looks to be poking fun at Scientology, a religion that has been adopted by a number of popular celebrities in the US. Trademark Rockstar Games humor can be spotted in the 12 listed tenets of this cult. While one reads, ‘You are happy, you just don’t know it,’ another one says, ‘Everyone is related to everyone else, except for people with red hair.’

Things get even funnier in the Testimonials section. “At first, I was nervous about giving up my identity and sleeping with all of those men, but I really enjoy it now,” read one such testimonial. And the names of those who have written these attestations even have the names of the cities they hail from written alongside them. Places like San Andreas, San Fierro, Liberty City and Los Santos give away more than enough needed to know that this site has something to do with GTA. The Epsilon Program featured quite prominently in GTA: San Andreas, and with this viral campaign now on, it seems that Grand Theft Auto 5 too will be having references to it.

Despite all this fuss, Grand Theft Auto 5 still remains without a release date. We expect Rockstar Games to come out with one soon. Above, we’ve embedded two of the latest screenshots of the title released by the developer recently.
