Next Skyrim DLC Maybe called Dragonborn, Might release for PS3

Rumor has it that a new Skyrim DLC is on the cards, and that it will most probably be dubbed Dragonborn. Patch 1.8 beta was released for the game recently through Steam, and a member of the game’s community decided to dive into its source code, in the process discovering possible details about things to come. If this information is to be believed, a new location will form part of the whole add-on apart from dragon mounts and more features.

And there’s good news for PS3 owners too. Some of the text files in the code also seem point that the DLC will be coming to Sony’s console as well. While the Dawnguard and the Hearthfire packs have both been launched for PC and Xbox 360, the PS3 is still to receive any of the game’s add-on content owing to technical issues.

According to posts on the game’s official forums, the fresh location in the game will be called Solstheim, which is placed to the East of Skyrim and the North of Morrowind. The last we visited this place was in the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind. Other locations found in the source code include Raven Rock, Castle Karstaag, Miraak Temple, Telvanni Tower and the Standing Stones.

Another interesting aspect of the rumors is that the Dragonborn DLC will probably allow player characters to ride dragons. Eurogamer, who first spotted the forum posts has speculated however that these dragon mounts may very well be scripted events, and not be involved in gameplay. We’d like to believe otherwise though.

We’ll bring you more on this once we get concrete information about the Skyrim DLC in question.
