BioWare Announces Worldwide Launch of Mass Effect 2

The Mass Effect franchise is a lucrative one, and just recently we heard that Hollywood was interested in making a movie based on it. Earlier we reported that there was an in-game portal for ME2 called The Cerberus Network. Now BioWare has announced the worldwide launch of Mass Effect 2 for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Commenting on the launch Dr Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA said, “Rich, immersive worlds, compelling characters and stories, and intense action are some of the hallmarks of BioWare games, and Mass Effect 2 truly raises the bar in every area. I’m incredibly proud of our team, who worked passionately to deliver a very high quality game for our fans. This epic sequel in the stunning Mass Effect universe is an extraordinary accomplishment, one which we can’t wait to get into the hands of a world-wide audience!”

Players who buy the game new will be able to access The Cerberus Network, an in-game portal for DLC and news, for free. The first batch of downloadable content has also been released and can be accessed from The Cerberus Network. It includes a new mission based around the Normandy crash site.
