Star Wars: The Old Republic Gets Four New Species

There has been quite a lot of Star Wars news floating around the gaming terrain this week. A couple of days back, we revealed that the PSP version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II was canceled. Also, Ubisoft Montreal creative director Clint Hocking has reportedly joined forces with the LucasArts team for an unnamed endeavor. Now the acclaimed franchise is back in the forefront as four new species unfurl for the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic.

According to the official Star Wars: The Old Republic website, the new playable non-human classes include the Miraluka, Zabraks, Mirialans and Sith Purebloods. Miraluka is looked upon as a near-human species endowed with the strength of the Force and are likely to emerge as strong Jedi Knights. They possess the ability to see by using just the force and in order to shield their eye sockets, the beings wear different color veils.

Emerging from a hostile world, Zabraks are equipped with the ferocity and determination to adorn the role of Sith Inquisitors. They are identified by their horns and facial tattoos and are known to be fierce aliens who show aggression and self-reliance. The third newly included species into Star Wars: The Old Republic is the Mirialans. This class is known to be one of the most mystical species and have the potential to become powerful Jedi Consulars. Their characteristics include green skin, symbolic facial tattoos, natural agility, patience and keen insight.

Another character type introduced to the MMORPG is Sith Pureblood. Seen as a first in any game, players will be able to take on the role of a member of the original Sith Race. These are red-skinned descendants of infamous Sith Lords like Marka Ragnos and Naga Sadow. The Sith Warriors surge with the very same rage that fueled their fallen ancestors. They are able to take on foes by displaying aggressive tactics and intimidating presence.

If these new species weren’t enough to tantalize the taste buds of any Star Wars fan then the official website reveals that the list is still incomplete and there are more options scheduled to arrive in the following months.
