Far Cry 4 is playable again on Xbox One, Microsoft offers no reason for what went wrong

Last week, many gamers on the Xbox One were unable to startup their copy of Far Cry 4 and the reason for this was that the title disappeared from the Xbox Store. Well, the issue has been rectified, albeit it did take quite a bit of time for Microsoft to fix, but that’s not the problem still at hand.

It’s great news that gamers can once again jump into Far Cry 4, but the real question is what did it go down in the first place? Just so you know, only digitally purchased copies of the title wouldn’t boot after the listing was temporarily pulled from the Xbox store. Many tried re-downloading the game and other tricks which were provided on the official Ubisoft forums, but none of the solutions worked.

In a statement to VideoGamer, Microsoft disclosed that customers will be able to play games that they own even if they’re unlisted from the Xbox Store. They’ll even be able to re-download entire titles from their download history whenever needed.

This rules out that DRM policies were the cause of the issue, which is a huge relief for gamers who prefer digital copies over physical one. Nevertheless, it still doesn’t offer any explanation why the players were locked out. Many speculate that a glitch was the main culprit, but it looks like we really won’t know for sure.

Hopefully, Microsoft has fixed the Far Cry 4 issue for good and gamers won’t have to face another nightmare of being locked out of their favorite games for over 24 hours.
