Far Cry 4 won’t have its own Blood Dragon expansion

The release of Far Cry 4 is right around the corner, and those who are eagerly anticipating the title owing to how much they loved its predecessor and its resultant expansion Blood Dragon, will be somewhat disappointed to know that the new game will not receive a DLC pack of that sort. Ubisoft has confirmed this news, but has not yet ruled out the possibility of an expansion completely, thus managing keeping fans on the edge.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

What this means is that Far Cry 4 won’t get an expansion that will look like Blood Dragon, with its 1980s theme, its retro-futuristic art and cyborg elements. However, there is a possibility that a completely new type of an expansion will make its way into the game. The title’s creative director Alex Hutchinson has told IGN that a Blood Dragon DLC pack for this new title is out of the question, but he also said that the developers are hoping to surprise us with ‘something just as much.’

Far Cry 3 was released back in November 2012, and received immense acclaim for its crazy story, its vast open world model and plenty of other factors. In April of 2013, the Blood Dragon expansion was released for it as standalone content. With its completely surprising and offbeat offerings, this game too managed to woo audiences a great deal. It lets you assume the role of a cyborg named Sergeant Rex Colt, and takes place in the midst of a nuclear war between the United States and Russia.
