Xbox One gets a release date for Japan

The Xbox One is all set to make its way into Japan this September. This would be a particularly interesting launch to watch since Microsoft’s performance with the Xbox 360 in the country has so far been pale as people there prefer going for consoles made by Japanese brands Sony and Nintendo rather than American systems. A host of different games are slated to accompany the next-gen console in the Asian country upon its launch.

The Xbox One will arrive in Japan on September 4 along with 40 games including Ryse: Son of Rome Ryse, Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Sunset Overdrive, ‘Halo on Xbox One’ and Dead Rising 3. Microsoft is planning to make this launch a big one, with planned special announcements and more. In an interview he gave to Famitsu, Microsoft Studios head, Phil Spencer said that one Japanese developer is even creating an Xbox One exclusive at the moment.

The Xbox One was first released on November 22 last year, and can be purchased now in select regions. This September it will be making its way into a number of other markets including India and Japan. This console from Microsoft is lagging behind the PS4 when it comes to sales, but it seems to have gained some steam owing to the recent launch of Titanfall which helped it score a large amount of sales at once.

Like we said, the Xbox One will be released in Japan on September 4. Its exact pricing details still remain undisclosed.
