The Walking Dead is headed to PS4 and Xbox One this June

After making its way to almost every big platform around, it would be obvious for Telltale Games to release The Walking Dead for the PS4 and the Xbox One. Listings for both these versions have been spotted on GameStop now, slapped with a June 17 release date. This is of course the GotY edition of the game containing all five episodes from Season One, apart from the bonus 400 Days episode.

Although Telltale is still to officially announce these versions they are ready to be pre-ordered via GameStop. They can be booked now for 29.99 USD (approx. Rs 1,830). As Eurogamer has pointed out, the release date for the PS4 version of The Walking Dead falls on a Tuesday which is the day on which the PS Store gets updated. This could mean that a digital launch via PSN is also on the cards for the critically acclaimed game.

Based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, The Walking Dead features adventure gameplay which is laced with survival horror and role-playing elements. It is released in the form of episodes after long gaps and its main highlight is the fact that it contains an extremely non-linear narrative that’s tailored based on the decisions you make during crunch situations. Its story focuses on the effects of a zombie apocalypse on surviving humans.
