Xbox One goes cheaper thanks to Kinect-less bundle

Microsoft is known to come up with backtracks on its policies related to the Xbox One, and so is the case once again. The company had earlier made it clear that the Kinect accessory is something that it will keep selling along with the console no matter if the price of the package is high. It has however announced that a bundle abandoning the motion sensing input device will be released this June with its price tagged at $399.

That also happens to be the price of the PS4, which means the competition between the two next-gen systems is about to heat up big-time. This non-Kinect package will be released in all countries which the Xbox One is selling in right now. This means we can expect it to be launched in nations included within the second big rollout of the console that is to begin this September. That’s when the Xbox One is slated to hit more than 25 regions from around the world, including China, Japan and India.

The Xbox One was announced in May last year, and was released in November. This eighth generation console from Microsoft is marketed as an entertainment device rather than just a gaming console. It has received a good response from folks from all over the world in terms of sales, but if numbers are to be compared against fierce rival, the PS4, there is still a lot of ground that needs to be made up by the Microsoft system.

This Xbox One price drop seems to be one of the measures the company has taken to achieve that goal. Let us now see how things go.
