Rs 39,990 and Rs 45,990 have been revealed to be the official prices of the Kinect-less and the Kinect-equipped versions of the Xbox One in India, respectively. The console will be released in the country on September 23, and will have a number of prominent launch games releasing along with it, including the newly announced Project Spark, Forza Horizon 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection which will hold in it a key to the beta of Halo 5: Guardians.
The Xbox One’s starting price of Rs 39,990 matches that of the PS4’s, which only means good things for Microsoft which is losing the battle with Sony’s console on many counts. Earlier, the company had made it clear that the Kinect will always form part of the Xbox One bundle, but like many of its other famous U-turns, Microsoft backtracked on this claim earlier this year and announced a Kinect-less version of the console to bring its price on par with that of the PS4’s.
Most of the major applications that work with Gold subscriptions will be accessible in India, according to Microsoft. Gamers in the country will also be granted a 14-day trial of the premium Gold membership. Other details about the console and its launch titles will be made available closer to release.
