PS4 has sold 10 million units, new Share Play functionality coming soon

Improving on its successful run furthermore, the PS4 has now managed to sell more than 10 million units worldwide. In addition to that, Sony has also announced that it will soon be blessing the console with a new Share Play feature that’s aimed at letting you invite a friend to play a game which they don’t own a copy of. There’s no word on how exactly this functionality will work, but we do know that it will be rolled out through the upcoming v2.00 firmware update meant for the popular gaming console.

The PS4, with its 10 million sales is still nowhere near becoming the best-selling consoles of all time, but it has managed to achieve this milestone following just 9 months of its release which is remarkable. More importantly, it has triumphed over the Xbox One with a big margin as well. But with the Microsoft console now all set to make its way into new markets this September, things could get heated up very soon.

Coming to the Share Play functionality which is the talk of the town right now, it is sure to have gotten owners of the PS4 excited. According to Eurogamer, it will allow a friend of yours to a stream your gameplay and take control of it on the fly. Apart from this, v2.00 of the PS4’s firmware will finally introduce the ability to upload videos directly to YouTube.

The PS4 is selling in more than 70 countries worldwide right now. In India it is available at Rs 39990, but it is soon to be challenged by the Xbox One which will be arriving in the country on September 23 exclusively through Amazon.
