“Consumer pressure in this economic downturn is shifting demand to lower prices and the price band around $100 has the highest demand and highest volume,” commented Rick Bergman, senior VP and general manager of Graphics Products Group at AMD. “AMD has responded with the launch of the ATI Radeon HD 4770, targeting this market with cutting-edge technologies like 40 nm processors, support for DirectX 10.1 gaming and GDDR5 memory. This strategy stands in stark contrast to the old ‘trickle down’ technology approach some still use to address this important segment.”

The HD 4770 graphics card provides third generation hardware support for games which need DirectX 10.1 such as HAWX, Stormrise, STALKER Clear Sky and Battleforge. The card utilizes GDDR5 memory technology to give extremely high data rates for gaming.

Gamers, who have an ATI CrossFireX ready motherboard, can boost their performance by adding a second HD 4770 graphics card. The ATI Radeon HD 4770 helps to enhance the clarity of media which is at a lower resolution to allow for a better viewing experience and also lets users enjoy HD digital content with amazing visual fidelity. The card also features HDMI support and second generation Unified Video Decoder technology.
