It has been a common story since the past few years; that of video games being delayed by big publishers for whatever reasons they prefer to give. As necessary as they might feel their extended time to be, it usually causes quite a high amount of discontent among fans. Recent examples of the issue are Dying Light, Evolve and Battlefield Hardline. All three were supposed to be out sometime this year, but will now be released in 2015. And it’s not just these three, as they have joined a list of other titles which were supposed to be launched this year and have been pushed into 2015. According to AZCentral, Associated Press has quoted Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot as saying that publishers are usually bothered by other games that are releasing in the market, as they make them want to reinvent their offerings furthermore to better compete with them. There’s also an argument that big publishers set certain release dates to rope in a large amount of pre-orders while also keeping the audience interested in their games over a long period of time.

Fall is when lots of new and exciting games get released for all platforms, and although this year’s season might be missing some big names due to delays, some publishers will indeed be sticking to their launch plans, much to the delight of fans.
