The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won’t be releasing this year, expect it in February 2015

By every means, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was one of the most anticipated games of this year. But millions of fans around the world will now have to wait longer in order to jump into this extravagant open world action-RPG, as its developers have announced a delay in its release. Earlier, the game was supposed to be launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime this year, but it will now be hitting the three platforms in February 2015.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

According to what CD Projekt RED has said though an open letter to fans and shareholders, the studio had initially planned on releasing The Witcher 3: Wild towards the end of 2014. However, they have also said that the additional months of development time will help it achieve a higher quality with the game. CD Projekt RED has described its vision for the next-gen RPG as well. It hopes to expand creative boundaries with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and also wishes to set new benchmarks and develop the genre as a whole.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will continue the story of Geralt of Rivia, and will also grant closure to his arch, thus completing the trilogy. It will be crammed with about 100 hours of gameplay which will be similar to its predecessor in many ways, yet will grab hordes of improvements and additions. This game was preceded by 2007’s The Witcher and 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

February 2015 is till when you’ll have to cool your heels to get into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You can still pre-order the game for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
