The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt revealed by CD Projekt RED

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the reveal of which we had got a slight idea about thanks to the Cyberpunk 2077 teaser, has finally come out in the open through the latest issue of Game Informer magazine. A large open world is all set to form part of this upcoming game along with a slew of fresh features that have been revealed by CD Projekt RED. It is slated to come out for PC and ‘all top-of-the-line’ consoles, as the developer likes to call them, giving more than enough hints that it will be landing on next-gen machines from Sony and Microsoft, and who knows, even the Wii U.

Main details of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which have been splashed by the magazine have been summarized by NeoGAF user, ‘Indigo_Cyclops.’ By the looks of it, this game looks every bit of a massive adventure it is being hailed to be. Its creator has talked about the size of its open world, saying that it is 20 percent larger than the one we saw in Skyrim. It is being said that it would take about 30 to 40 minutes so as to cross this in-game world on horseback. At the heart of the title will be the developer’s REDengine 3 technology which was showcased just a few days back.

As far as the story is concerned, no tough details about it are available as of now. However, it has come to light that protagonist Geralt of Rivia will have restored his memory completely in this new iteration, and will be more independent in his decision-making than ever. Unlike the previous game, the narrative of this one won’t be told in the form of chapters. A new gameplay mechanic dubbed monster hunting has also been revealed to have been added to it.

The first game from this series had come out in 2007, and it was in 2011 that its sequel was released for PC. Its eventual popularity resulted in an Xbox 360 port in 2012, but a PS3 launch still eludes it. And hence, it remains to be seen what platforms the developer will be selecting for the third game in the series.
