Microsoft E3 Press Conference Part 2: More Xbox 360 Exclusives

We continue our coverage of this year’s entertainment expo with part 2 of the details revealed at the Microsoft E3 press conference. The war of DLC-exclusivity boiled over when it was revealed that three upcoming games, namely Resident Evil 6, Tomb Raider and South Park: The Stick of Truth will all receive add-on content, which will be available first only on Xbox 360.

It was also disclosed that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II will receive DLC content through Xbox Live before other platforms. This strategy seems to be the same as the one used for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which came in November last year, and has since been getting add-on content for the Xbox 360 version before it hits other platforms.

Besides, a number of fresh games were announced at the conference. Dance Central 3 is among them, and so is Avatar Motocross Madness. While the former is a Kinect title which is set to feature dance hits from today as well as from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, the latter builds on Microsoft’s classic Motocross series by presenting MX racing, exploration and social competition. Ascend: New Gods has also been announced, and is being described as an action role-playing game involving three-scale combat and mobile integration.

Another highlight of the Microsoft E3 press conference is Fable: The Journey. This new addition to the much loved series will take place 50 years after the events in Fable III. It would proffer Kinect-integration and will be released in October this year. Forza Horizon is also ready to launch in October with its supposed high-intensity action-racing offerings. Happy Wars, a new multiplayer action title and Joe Danger: The Movie, the much awaited successor the original game will also be published by Microsoft.

Creators of Ms. Splosion Man, Twisted Pixel has revealed a new game called Lococycle which is an action game exclusive to the Xbox 360. Another fresh offering to arrive via Microsoft is Matter which the bigwig claims is a journey across a mysterious and visually stunning world. Furthermore, Mark of the Ninja by developer Klei Entertainment of Shank fame will land on the 360. And the final highlight of the press conference is Wreckateer, which asks gamers to use the Kinect so as to control a massive castle-wrecking ballista.
