0x10c is Mojang’s Next Game

Taking the concept of weird game names to a completely new level, 0x10c has revealed itself to be Minecraft-creator Mojang’s newest offering. Nothing other than a website detailing a few of its features has gone live as of yet, but its creator – Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, has posted on his Twitter page that the title’s unusual moniker is a riddle for gamers to crack.

This offering is still in its early stages of creation. And this information is being disclosed by Mojang, as it will be adopting a similar development approach which we got to see with Minecraft. This means that it is expected to release quite early so as to allow fans to shape the game as it grows. 0x10c will transpire in a parallel universe, where the space race never ended and space travel is gaining popularity amongst corporations and rich individuals.

“Hi, I’m Notch, and this is my new game. It’s going to be a space game, and it’s quite ambitious! The game is still extremely early in development, but like we did with Minecraft, we expect to release it early and let the players help me shape the game as it grows. The cost of the game is still undecided, but it’s likely there will be a monthly fee for joining the Multiverse as we are going to emulate all computers and physics even when players aren’t logged in. Single player won’t have any recurring fees,” Notch wrote on the website.

A few features that the developer expects to inject into the game have also been revealed. These include hard science fiction, engineering, space battles against the AI or other players, abandoned ships full of loot, duct tape, an advanced economy system as well as mining, trading, and looting.

Details are still very scarce, but we’ll keep gamers posted with all the latest information regarding 0x10c.
