Kinect Star Wars Launched on Kinect for Xbox 360

Microsoft and LucasArts have announced the availability of Kinect Star Wars across retailers in the UK. Utilizing the Kinect for Xbox 360, this title will allow gamers to perform activities such as wielding lightsabers, podracing, and even dancing.

The new game has been developed by Terminal Reality, a studio whose last offering came during 2010 in the form of Def Jam Rapstar. Jedi Destiny: Dark Side Rising, Podracing, Rancor Rampage, Galactic Dance Off and Duels of Fate are the five different game modes that the new title has on offer. These are all claimed by LucasArts to have been aimed at Star Wars fans of all ages.

The Jedi Destiny mode includes space battles, speeder bikes, landspeeders as well as other duels, while the Podracing mode allows gamers to jump into the galactic sport of racing anti-gravity pods. Furthermore, the Rancor mode places players in the shoes of a Rancor who must destroy certain areas. And the Galactic Dance Off mode involves Princess Leia and the others dancing to modern songs remixed with Star Wars lyrics. Lastly, the Duels of Fate mode provides players with a training ground as they gear up to face Darth Vader.

Along with the game, a special limited edition console bundle has also been released. This set comprises an R2-D2 themed 320GB Xbox 360 console which comes equipped with sounds from the Star Wars movies, a white Kinect sensor, a gold colored C-3PO themed Xbox 360 wireless controller as well as a copy of the title.

Kinect Star Wars can be purchased now on Kinect for Xbox 360 at a price of 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,545). On the other hand, the limited edition console bundle sells at 449 USD (approx. Rs. 22,845).
