Resident Evil is the long standing video game franchise from Japanese developer and publisher Capcom. The IP was so successful that it has even had a series of movie releases. Earlier we reported that the existence of a fourth film entitled Resident Evil: Afterlife was revealed by Mila Jovovich in a paparazzi video. It has also come to light that Paul W. S. Anderson will be directing and the movie will release in 3D.
Now ComingSoon is reporting that the synopsis and full cast of Resident Evil: Afterlife has been revealed. Apparently Screen Gems have provided the plot for the movie which features Mila Jovovich, Ali Larter, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Kim Coates, Norman Yeung and Kasey Barnfield.
The synopsis of the new Resident Evil movie goes something like:
In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.
Resident Evil: Afterlife is apparently scheduled for an August 27, 2010 release.
