Hideo Kojima is one the best game designers ever and the Metal Gear series has established him as one of the greatest in the industry. Now IGN is reporting that Hideo Kojima is working on a concept for a new game. But fans of the Metal Gear series shouldn’t get excited as the new game is expected to be outside of the Metal Gear universe.
Fumiaki Tanaka, the president of Konami spoke about this mystery project by Hideo Kojima to Japanese website Nikkei BP. Tanaka was tight lipped about the new game and mentioned that he could not divulge anything at this point. He even clarified that they will not be making a formal announcement this year about this new Kojima project.
Tanaka also added that the Hideo Kojima will finish writing the scenario of the game after Metal Gear Solid 4 has been launched and Metal Gear Online has been given a key thrust. Besides speaking on the new game from Hideo Kojima, the Konami head also said that they expect the sales of MGS 4 to be something comparable to past titles and indicated that they are aiming for sales of one million copies in Japan alone.
