Earlier this week, Sony had revealed details about the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PS3 bundle and had mentioned that the game would be out in the second quarter of 2008. Konami has confirmed the launch dates and has said that Metal Gear Solid 4 will release in North America on June 12, 2008.
Kazumi Kitaue, Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer, Konami Digital Entertainment says, “Blockbuster events and premieres are a tradition of the summer. We expect that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots fits that bill completely, and consumers will be waiting in line to get their copy of the game just like it’s a hit Hollywood movie.”
Besides the release date, Konami also confirmed the Metal Gear Online Starter Pack, which well let gamers enjoy online action with up to 16 players. Just like Sony, they mentioned the Pre Sell Program, wherein gamers who pre-order MGS 4 will get goodies like MGS DVDs and a download code along with special instructions for accessing the Metal Gear Online beta test that takes place in April.
