Another big piece of news at the moment is that the Second Assault expansion will be a timed-exclusive for the Xbox One when it will be launched on November 22, also the release date for Microsoft’s console. One of five such packs planned for Battlefield 4, it can be pre-ordered for the Xbox One at the moment. As for other platforms, there’s no word about when it will be arriving for them.

DICE disclosed the presence of Caspian Border, Operation Metro, Gulf of Oman and Operation Firestorm in the Second Assault DLC during a livestreamed Battlefield 4 Europe vs. USA showdown recently, according to PCGamesN. These maps are set to be completely revamped thanks to the new features introduced through the latest game.

Firstly, all of them will be optimized for the Frostbite 3 engine, making way for better graphics. Moreover, the Levolution approach which has given Battlefield one of its main selling points – its dynamic environments – will also be introduced to these maps.

Other than Second Assault, DICE has plans to release four expansions for Battlefield 4. Next in the lineup is dubbed China Rising, while the others are called Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand. All of these will go for free to those who purchase the game’s Premium subscription.
