The release of the two final Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC packs will take the tally of the game’s extra content to 29 pieces of add-ons, Activision has revealed. Dubbed Collection #3: Chaos Pack and Collection #4: Final Assault, these downloads will be out for the Xbox 360 in August and September, respectively, with their PS3 and PC launch dates still under wraps.
The initial Chaos Pack will have its focus set on Special Ops content that offers solo as well as co-op gameplay. A total of four brand new Spec Ops missions titled Vertigo, Arctic Recon, Light ‘Em Up and Special Delivery will be included in it. Moreover, three maps for the Face Off mode will also be doled out. These are named Vortex, U-Turn and Intersection.
But the most interesting addition among this lot will be the new Special Ops Chaos Mode which, Activision claims, will offer an entirely new way to play Call of Duty. It will contain frenzied battles asking players to survive waves of enemies. It will be available to be played on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps like Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome.
Said to be targeted at hardcore multiplayer fans, Collection #4: Final Assault will bring in five brand new maps. While Gulch will be set in a forgotten mining town, the Boardwalk map will transpire on Jersey Shore. Furthermore, Offshore and Decommission will be based on deadly oceanic oilrigs, and the final map, Parish will be set in a French Quarter inside a war-torn New Orleans.
The Chaos Pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released for the Xbox 360 on August 9, 2012, whereas the Final Assualt Pack will be made available for the console on September 6. These will sell at 1,200 Microsoft Points or 14.99 USD (approx. Rs. 840) each. For CoD: Elite subscribers, this content will be delivered earlier than these dates.
