At the beginning of this year, the trio of EA, Epic Games and People Can Fly unleashed the doors of insanity with bullets and fun in the Bulletstorm demo. The narrative of the title revolves around the planet of Stygia in the 26th century. During this era, the inhabitants of this place are said to have been facing the worst nightmare of their lives as rampaging freaks, carnivorous plants and gigantic creatures overtake the civilization. In the game, players see the world through Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato’s eyes who are introduced as ex-members of an elite military force, Dead Echo. While traversing through the galaxy, these characters land on Stygia only to find its deteriorating condition until they take up arms for fighting the evil forces.

“Bulletstorm plays like a high-octane summer blockbuster movie. It’s loaded with intense action and cinematic moments, all wrapped up in a fun story,” commented Dr. Michael Capps, President of Epic Games. “People Can Fly has really tapped into the power of Unreal Engine 3, and the result is a stunningly beautiful playground for mayhem. The skillshot system delivers a new shooter experience that’s stylish, creative and a heck of a lot of fun. We can’t wait to see what our players do once they get Bulletstorm in their hands.”

Featuring the Anarchy multiplayer mode, this first-person shooter allows gamers to unravel the domain through a vivid perspective. This mode enables approximately four players to join hands for defeating hordes of blood-thirsty mutants while trying to ascend the Skillpoints ladder. The game also unfolds an Echo mode wherein it follows and compares scores earned by players across various campaigns. Besides, the Skillshot system has been designed to extend distinct weaponry including a four-barreled shotgun Boneduster and a sniper rifle named Headhunter.

As the title paves its way into the terrain, the developers and publisher have disclosed the first Bulletstorm DLC pack christened Gun Sonata. This bundle embraces three new maps for the Anarchy multiplayer mode which will set out new battlefields in the wretched Sewers of Stygia, ruins of Hotel Elysium and the extensive Gun Sonata Villa. It will also dish out two maps for the Echo mode, introducing missions in Crash Site and Guns of Stygia. Additionally, two Leash enhancements called the Flamingo and the Pulp are expected to refine gamers’ craft and style.
