After finally patching its PC version, Capcom has announced that a group of 12 DLC characters is all set to be introduced for Street Fighter X Tekken at the end of this month. These fighters were originally scheduled to be released post the game’s PS Vita launch later this year, but will now be out prematurely for the PS3 and Xbox 360 along with a balance patch, also slated for the same day.
The names of the characters have also been revealed by the developer. This roster will kick in six fighters each from both the Street Fighter and Tekken franchises. They include Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Jack, Bryan Fury, Alisa, Lars, Lei and Christie. Capcom has been in the eye of the storm ever since it was discovered that these 12 characters were already on the disc of Street Fighter X Tekken in a locked state. The company has now issued its official statement regarding the issue.
“I know the 12 DLC characters have been a contentious topic since they were discovered on the disc, but your reactions have been heard. We can cite our reasons why they were on the disc all day – compatability for all players, save HD space, download bandwidth etc – but in the end you have to hear what the community has to say. The dev teams are listening, and promise to incorporate that feedback into future titles – fighting or otherwise,” Brett Elston, Community Manager at Capcom Unity, wrote on the official Capcom Unity blog.
And the developer has also gone on to say that the PS Vita version will come bundled with download codes for the 12 characters and alternate costumes for the core 38 fighters. Those who will pre-order the handheld version via GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon will get alternate costumes for the new 12 characters as well. As for now, along with the DLC pack, gamers can look forward to a game update which is said to balance out certain aspects of the title.
From July 31, 2012 onwards, the 12 new DLC fighters for Street Fighter X Tekken will be available to download through PSN and Xbox Live at 20 USD (approx. Rs. 1,110) and 1600 Microsoft Points, respectively.
